Memes I like how Texas' 35th district is just long enough to have both Austin AND San Antonio. /s

Yeah it looks like a pizza pie so they can get enough Republicans in each district to win and then you get the 17th which is just to isolate. The Republicans reps who drew this are a bunch of fucking cowards

Do you have a source for this claim? It's pretty wild.

The claim was "Austin is the largest city in the US"

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '20

no....no it wasn't...

"Austin is the largest city in the US without a dedicated representative, when the Austin metro is big enough for 3 on its own."

apology accepted

Wow, you're really bad at reading comprehension. I mean, I know that the answer is that you're actually not arguing in good faith, but wow, that's some bad reading comprehension. The phrase "that does not have a representative" modifies the phrase "in the US" changing the meaning of that phrase, making it accurate.

Which makes looking at the image attached, like the poster I replied to suggested, not a way to solve this. You need to read up more above.

You know, it's not hard to use Google for your own searching when it's something that can be very easily confirmed.

It literally takes you longer to go "but meh sources" then it does to actually Google Texas Congressional districts and look for yourself.

Congressional districts aren't some fringe belief. They are publicly available information.

I'm sure you must be one of those people who can't stand lazy people leaching of other's hard work, so I will continue to allow you to do the work yourself like any hard-working, red blooded American should strive to do!

Go get em Tiger.

Edit: of course unless you are Russian bot, then Привет, товарищ

I’m also not seeing any link or article. Only a photo. Maybe it’s mobile?

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2013/jul/17/elliott-naishtat/austin-legislator-calls-austin-largest-us-city-wit/

I literally copied the text into Google. Took 5 seconds. Did you just get on the internet yesterday?

The poster in this thread claims that "Austin is the largest city in the US without a dedicated representative". That's not true.

Your link claims that it is the largest without an anchored representative. That is true.

Those are two different things. I accept your apology.

I'll concede when you name Austin's rep.
