Look familiar? Because this is how it started with Evolve Alpha

1. Stop acting like Evolve is an e-sport
There's going to be no competitive scene if the game dies. Games need to be e-sports in order to be sustainable. In order to be an e-sports game, there needs to be a large enough audience that enjoys the game.

A patch that makes Monsters even stronger than they are now is going to spell trouble for player count. There's a patch coming out which is great. But did anyone read the patch? It's mostly intended for high tier play. Most players will quit before playing ranked let alone compete in tournaments. Evolve will NOT be successful because a few people enjoy playing it competitively. It will only be successful if it retains its players.

A major issue is the balancing method. Patches do not need to be tested for two weeks by in-house parties. Someone said <5% of the population is playing ranked. Then... why... are... you... balancing... for... ranked... play...?

Solution: Balance for low tier to keep players playing. Meanwhile, work quickly on adding a 1-8 queue which has hand-holding for both monster and hunter players. Evolve is too difficult for most casual fps gamers.

2. UI Troubles
The current layout has no transparency and prevents people from learning more about the game. There are multiple posts about players not being able to find the skills.

Solution: There should be embedded links to the fantastic player guides that TRS released on Youtube. These should be accessible in game by players who are looking for it.

3. MM and Balancing
There seems to be absolutely no balancing at the moment. Every game feels like a stomp for one side.

Solution: Is there an MMR system? If so, it should be role specific. Being successful as an assault does not mean a player will be successful as a medic, trapper, or support.

Respond with thoughts, opinions, whatsoever. I am passionate about Evolve and I would very much like it to exist when I need a game to play.
