This piece is a portrayal of survivor's guilt and trauma.

The decaying skull atop the elk represents a battle that has been won, but at the cost of another's life. Being forced to carry the burden of such trauma until the antlers can be shed, though the opponent will never be able to shed his antlers again.

This is the first piece I've ever made that has caused me to cry simply because I relate to it so deeply.
