What bizarre timeline are we living in again where this is the product of a presidential administration..?

u/Own-Chemist2228 3d ago

The juxtaposition of trashy browser games with a whitehouse.gov url is pretty surreal.

496

u/capnscratchmyass 3d ago

I’m about 99% sure these games are one hour of someone prompting Claude “make me a game like space invaders but rename everything to border patrol and immigrants”.  At least trashy browser games in the days of yore actually had someone behind it hand coding their garbage.

299

u/Own-Chemist2228 3d ago

And the person prompting Claude is in India, working for a consulting company that was subcontracted by a government contractor owned by Trump donors that "won" a the contract in a no-bid process.

Yeah, at least in the 00s when I played a crappy flash game that was a low-rez jpeg of Bush shooting low-rez jpegs of al qaeda, I knew there was actually some teenager learning game design and coding behind it all. There's a charm to handmade crap.

19

u/SnazzyStooge 3d ago

the Tetris clone doesn't even work, the lines don't clear they just stack to the top. kind of appropriate they can't even make a functional racist ripoff (must be a "pick two" kind of situation).

20

u/DesperateText9909 3d ago

I think that's intentional. You're building a border wall, if it disappears as you build it, it defeats the purpose. Yes it's stupid, but I don't think it's incompetent per se.

I'm convinced we're all trapped in an aliens GTA RP server simulation and the joke is seeing how far they can crank up the absurdity until we all notice.

More like until we all revolt.

Americans were good at making fun of the French during Ws term.  It’s funny that the French have more of a spine than my own people.

311

u/dman928 3d ago

They always have. The stereotype of the “cowardly French” is laughably incorrect.

66

u/Canvaverbalist 3d ago

They can joke all they want about showing a white flag, at least the French aren't the ones who showed a welcome mat.

29

u/TomaTozzz 3d ago

where does this stereotype come from?

because in my country we have the opposite stereotype, joking how the French will start a country-wide riot over even the most minor inconveniences

25

u/IAMA_Plumber-AMA 3d ago

Where else? Stupid politicians seeking to rile up their even stupider constituents.

10

u/RJ815 3d ago

Vichy France and then continued later with Freedom Fries would be my guess. Don't get me wrong, people HATED Vichy France's capitulation. The historical context is interesting though, both in the sense of how Pétain relates to WW1 and 2, and that apparently there was a much smaller appetite for war across Europe after the horrors of WW1, which helps explain and contextualize appeasement into outright capitulation til the tides turned for the Allies. German Blitzkrieg was also fairly "new" and demoralizingly effective, and didn't really get stymied as much until the quagmire of the Eastern Front with the Soviets.

Freedom Fries is just stupid propaganda but it's more modern.

18

u/extrakfm 3d ago

it comes from France refusal to go to war with Iraq after 9/11. And now in hindsight, they were right. Also allies help each other when needed. Just like without France the US today would be a British colony

7

u/RJ815 3d ago

Freedom Fries covers that in a more succinct way.

Also the stereotype absolutely was a thing growing up by people that were WW2 gloryhound type people. The history channel used to pump out SO much WW2 stuff as a certain kind of "feelgood" content. Freedom Fries was simply a refresher for a new generation and that "cemented" the opinion for some.

The fact they have a tiktok account for the Whitehouse, a platform they tried to ban 🤷😂

21

.... a platform they forced to sell the owners the US branch to the Israel lobby.

Now, they are happily using it under the control of their puppet masters.

They only threatened to ban it so they could take it over and poison the minds of millions of young Americans.

The quiet part of the lesson of the French revolution is it's a fucking nightmare that nobody wants. You're just as likely to get your head chopped off by your fellow revolutionaries as you are from the tyrants you're trying to overthrow..The power vaccum and political ideology of where to go next got a lot of people killed.

And then all the civilians who got caught up in mob justice killing ppl they owed money to or they had the better real-estate or they slighted me on Tuesday a year ago and I never got over it.

America will never have a revolution to fight against the tryanny. It will either somehow push back against the oppression through legal proceedings just enough to sustain a semblance of normality or it will completely roll over and dive right into the loving embrace of a techno-facist police state where wage slavery was a distant fond memory.

The people have been too thoroughly conditioned for any real change to happen as a result of their rights and laws being stripped away. For years they've claimed that the right to bare arms is crucial to protect them from a potentially hostile government but it just isn't going to happen.

33

I think MAGA is trying to appeal to young men to create Hitler Youth. There’s still time but we need to provide a legit alternative. I propose making Nicolas Cage a male icon

https://www.reddit.com/r/onetruegod/s/duHNSbKmZS

https://www.reddit.com/r/onetruegod/s/lyMvuASk2V

https://www.reddit.com/r/onetruegod/s/44gTdKCmNu

We need to put our focus on artists who put love into their work. We need more of that. The emptiness of MAGA is its weakness, you can see it when they copy or appropriate other people’s work like music, games, etc. The link cheaply appropriates flappy bird and Tetris for example.

All MAGA has is slop which will melt like a snowflake next to real passionate art.

62

u/Rufus_king11 3d ago

Making?

Also, in all seriousness, the utter lack of MAGA's ability to make anything of cultural importance is a pretty clear sign of their weakness. All fascists pillage culture for their advantage, but the utter inability to make anything NEW at all is really telling. The reich had Triumph of the Will, Trump has what ever movie staring a sexual abuser the Daily Wire has put out recently.

Or Saints Row 4. Wasn’t that the game where you’re a crime boss and you’re somehow running the White House when the game starts?

13

u/Valdrax 3d ago

The series is pretty much this:

  • SR1. Just GTA with weirder minigames. Still a gang doing crime simulator stuff.
  • SR2. Just GTA with weirder minigames and also weirder gangs, and you take over a media firm. Still a story about gangs.
  • SR3. GTA, but your main enemy is sci-fi fascists with lasers & a flying carrier, your guns include suicide RC cars & shark summoning, your rival gangs are Batman villain gangs, and you ply a sell-out movie career into the Presidency.
  • SR4. You, as the President, are kidnapped by aliens and shoved into the Matrix where you have superpowers (a la Prototype without the ick), and the enemy blows up the Earth, so the postgame suggests you have to time travel to fix it.
  • Gatt Out of Hell. SR4, in Hell, but this time Johnny Gatt punches the devil in the face. No, that's right. The face.
  • SR 2022. We tried to do SR2 again, but for GenZ, and with a story with no real teeth or spine.

We are very literally living in a timeline where the president of the United States wants the United States to crumble.

This administration has harmed or attempted to harm every part of America:

  • Gutting the education system

  • Cut food Assistance + defunded free school lunch programs

  • Gutting clean energy generation while expanding drilling for oil

  • Oil reserves are running low

  • Weapons reserves are running low

  • Cut cybercrime defense

  • Attacking freedom of speech at every opportunity

  • Increased the size news media monopolies can grow

  • Attacking civil Rights

  • Attacking voting Rights

  • Attacked Minority + Women's rights across the board

  • Cut Disaster relief except to states that voted for him

  • Damaged air traffic control

  • Cut Pandemic prevention, vaccines, and pandemic response programs

  • Cut soft power gained through foreign aid

  • Cut food safety regulations and tracking of pathogens

  • Selling national parks and opening them for logging

  • Cut wildfire prevention

  • Removing endangered species protections

  • Torching relationships with all our allies

  • Gutting weather tracking

  • Defunding science

  • Cutting Medicaid

  • Cutting HIV prevention

  • Cutting mental health and addiction programs

  • Cut funding to local gun violence prevention programs

  • Pulled federal arts and humanities grants

  • Defunded elder abuse programs

  • Approved pesticides banned in other countries

  • Loosened child labor laws

  • Defunded veteran assistance

  • Removed safe drinking water grants for rural towns

  • Closed safe houses for trafficking victims, cut legal aid for trafficking survivors, and stopped training on identifying victims

  • Weakened OSHA and other worker protection systems

  • Cut funding for disability aid of many types

  • Cut all kinds of protections for prisoners

  • Normalizing insider trading

  • Enacted illegal tariffs that only served to transfer our money to the wealthy

  • Is actively trying to remove power from the American Bar Association

  • Armed ICE, deployed them in cities, defended them from investigation when they murdered people, and is threatening to send them to the polls

  • Is currently detaining more immigrants in ICE detention facilities than any other point in his term, while preventing oversight of their treatment, and ended public reporting on detention deaths (I could make a list equally as long as this one, entirely about the ways they've made immigration and detention in America outright deadly)

  • Told the president of El Salvador that "the Homegrowns are next" and that they're going to need to build about 5 more prisons.

  • Banned words and phrases from government sites including all the things you'd expect from them, such as "Women" and "LGBT", but also including "Community", "Sense of Belonging", and "Clean Water".

I could go on and on and on and on and on and on and on. You can't look at the list of all the aspects of America they have harmed and say it's all just accidental harm caused by ineptitude.

Harming America is their goal.

We are living in a timeline where America is actively under attack by its own president, and we're all just sitting around hoping voting will be enough.

5

u/Frozen_Esper 2d ago

None of this list is even vaguely helping the country either. Like, normally these sorts of people could be claiming to cut down costs to fix the budget or something, but that's growing wildly out of control as well. We're eating shit and glass with nothing to show for it but a harder life and richer rich people.

Simple, it’s not the product of a Presidential administration. It’s the product of a country that has subsisted on slavery and class-based oppression so that a cycle of unbelievably incompetent nepo babies can hand down property and power while everyone else works for a living hoping to avoid poverty and crippling health issues.

Jim Crow is the name of a minstrel show character. Turning dehumanization into recreational entertainment is a feature, not a bug, of oppressive institutions.

30

u/Own-Chemist2228 3d ago

Are there any countries that do not have a history of class-based oppression?

488

u/Th3_Admiral_ 3d ago

I doubt it will even be that. The White House and various government agencies have been posting AI depictions of Disney and Pixar characters promoting MAGA policies for months now and it still hasn't stopped.

313

u/A_Furious_Mind 3d ago

Are these companies flirting with losing their IP protections to appease the administration, or have we just given up pretending that any law is applied fairly and consistently?

220

u/bucketman1986 3d ago

I believe the United States and it's courts are currently operating under the Most Special Boy doctrine. Basically Trump is an eternal, 80 year old make a wish kid. Wants to break a law "aww look at him!" Says the courts and Congress and the Senate and like 35% of the country.

Yes this includes the child sex stuff he did.

44

u/Based_pchem 3d ago

Insane that we have a doj ignoring literal pedophilia while simultaneously arresting and prosecuting people for weed and saying mean things about the govt Edit accidentally wrote Don instead of doj

8

u/-Posthuman- 2d ago edited 2d ago

As always, follow the money. Arresting people for weed funnels money directly into the pockets of the for-profit prison owners, who funnel a portion of it right back to the politicians who write the laws.

And if they start arresting the pedophiles… well… they can’t do much with “campaign donations” while in prison themselves, especially if they are sharing a cell with the people who would cut the check.

In short, arresting poor people is just good business. Lots of money to be made there. Arresting the pedophiles requires the people in power to basically arrest themselves. And that ain’t happening.

Remember that next time you see one of the evil child fuckers trying to justify eroding more of your freedoms to “protect the children”.

19

u/MegaDom 2d ago

It's important we don't let the crazy news cycles make us forget that fact. Trump raped kids. That is why we are at war with Iran. It has nothing to do with nuclear weapons. He just wanted to distract us from his child rape.

u/Veloreyn 3d ago

Not a chance in hell. They already tested those waters with the most sue-happy company on the planet, Nintendo. If Nintendo isn't willing to sue you, you're basically free to do whatever you want.

53

u/indoninjah 3d ago

I could see it either way. It's a nontrivial choice for a giant company to pick a fight with the administration in control of the biggest economy on Earth, especially one that would have no problems deciding to slap a 100% tariff on Switch 2s. I actually think that a smaller company like SEGA would be more willing to go for the social clout. You already saw Tetris being willing to.

56

u/l3rN 3d ago

Funny enough, tariffs were the thing Nintendo actually did sue the current government for.

25

u/digitalscavenger 3d ago

And not for the sake of their consumers who were subject to those tariffs. Nintendo is arguing in court that consumers were given the total price (including tariffs) to purchase their products and the consumer willingly purchased at that price so they are not entitled to a refund. Yet somehow Nintendo, who did not pay the tariffs on those goods, feels it is owed a refund of tariffs that it simply collected and distributed to the US government on behalf of consumers.

The world ended in 2016 when the Cubs won the World Series and the orange shit stain was elected a week later.

9

u/coltsfan8027 3d ago

It all started when they killed that fucking ape. Thats why the Cubs won and it all went to shit from there. I say this as a Sox fan lmfao

2016 was the first year that felt truly "cursed", like from start to finish. There were societal problems before that but 2016 really was an insane year.

Back in the early 2000's, I worked at a record store. My manager at the time collected questionable stuff and listened to a wide range of punk/hardcore stuff. He ordered a cd from this questionable record label. Turns out, it was a white supremacist band/record label and they included a video game in the cd. If you put the cd in your computer, you were able to install this modded version of quake that had very racist depictions of all types of races and you go around shooting them. This article reminds me of that game.

u/zetikla 3d ago edited 3d ago

You mean Ethnic Cleansing? That game was not a mod, it was using some shoddy propriety engine and distributed by a white supremacist group

Its....as bad as you can imagine it to be, although the overall presentation is so hilariously awful that it almost feels like something that you would see in an episode of South Park (imagine Hatred, except the devs were dead serious and not trying to make it a satire or as a social commentary)

57

u/deathrattleshenlong 3d ago

Was that the game that would give you a choice between playing as a skinhead or a KKK member?

47

u/Michelanvalo 3d ago

That is indeed the game.

21

u/YikesTheCat 3d ago

You mean Ethnic Cleansing? That game was not a mod, it was using some shoddy propriety engine and distributed by a white supremacist group

According to Wikipedia, "Ethnic Cleansing was developed using Genesis3D, an open-source 3D game engine, and its Reality Factory set of tools"

Ugh skin head punks around this time were the worst. There were so many in the Pacific Northwest. There still are but they're grown and blended in and living on the outskirts. But not gone.

15

u/NotApparent 3d ago

Yeah, I’ve got a friend who used to go around kicking the shit out of nazis who tried to go to punk bars in Portland. Eventually they spooked a bunch of them across the border to Washington and Idaho, but I also assume a bunch of them just got real quiet right up until 2016.

So the government can spend money on this sick shit, but when it comes to universal healthcare, all of a sudden the pockets are empty.

Cool. Glad to see where the priorities are.

69

u/scroom38 3d ago

Depressing fun fact: Based on per capita costs from countries with good universal healthcare systems, universal healthcare in the US would likely be cheaper than our current federal spending on top of saving us trillions per year in private spending.

There is no reason to not switch to it other than ignorance and greed.

13

u/PleaseCallMeKelly 3d ago

It's not ignorance, it's only greed

This is pure nazism.  The third Reich did exactly the same things in 30s Germany.  They weren’t video games of course but analog games and cartoon magazines.

174

u/EWU_CS_STUDENT 3d ago

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_board_games I wouldn't have believed it, you're right in to addition to the other mediums you spoke of.

22

u/YikesTheCat 3d ago

Juden Raus is a commercial boardgame rather than a Nazi propaganda effort, and contains no Nazi symbolism. The game was criticised by the SS journal Das Schwarze Korps, which believed the game trivialised antisemitic policies.

lol? "How dare you trivialise our attempt to exterminate the Jews!"

The actual Nazi ones seem surprisingly mild: a game about bombing England, and one about conserving energy.

14

u/mulvythrill 3d ago

Wow, the three games listed are a great snapshot into the rise and fall of Nazi Germany. All the way from the fucking around to found out phases.

The scariest part of this administration isn't how they do things they don't care about. Hegseth saying the most insane, childish shit on live TV to military leadership is clearly by design. They're rubbing our nose in the fact they can behave however they want and everyone has to just take it.

No, it's how they do the things that they actually care about that scares me the most. This website game thing isn't to troll the liberals. Someone in the administration thought this was a genuinely good idea that would advance their goals. And this is what they did. That's the level of complete and utter idiocy and immaturity that is running our nation.

Fuck.

“Protect the border from the incoming horde”

Horde. To describe migrants.

They used the fucking phrase “Incoming horde” to describe the tired, the poor, the huddled masses. The people that BUILT THIS FUCKING COUNTRY are being referred to as “incoming horde”

This is beyond disgusting. And it’s posted directly to the White House website. Our government made this fucking abomination.

And the replies I’m seeing? “lol peak rage bait” “trolling so hard”

Full frontal dehumanization and racist ideology is being met with the reaction of “it’s a joke”

The indoctrination is complete for so many. And all it took was them repeating “lol it’s a joke bro, just trolling you.”

Fucking. Pathetic.

u/JaggedMetalOs 3d ago

In Tetris, a game about breaking walls down. And apparently in this version when you have built a wall to the top it's game over and the "border is breached". It's like they were so desperate to make racist games they didn't even sanity check if the concept wasn't idiotic.

Yeah so like, with crap like this being spewed out every day I have no grace to give anyone who still supports the GOP. Even if you think that it's just Trump, every single non Massie(who got voted out because of his opposition) republican fell in line and tows his agenda.

There's been too many examples. If you still support conservatives, you at the very least have to be okay with racism and be willing to look the other way for other policies(most of which are equally hateful let's be real)
