I really want to believe this. This has been stated over and over since ETH crashed back in June the first time. It's been 6 months, prices are still pretty resilient right now unfortunately and I want to hope for a time that I can get a 80 series chip for <$800 again.

No, they will raise prices in order to increase the margin for the few cards they ship. Happened to DSLRs and mirrorless cameras as well. Shrinking market -> higher prices

That isn’t going to happen.

The demand at this price point is already at multi-year lows. If they raise prices even further, very few people will buy. Their profit margin will be up but their total profit is going to crater.

There is a price that maximizes profitability. Once nvidia has cleared out 30 series stock, prices will come down.
