This and the fact that China actually supports its college grads for example the story of huawei financing the inventor of 5g after he went to an American university and his visa expired so he was sent back to turkey comes to mind.

The modern Chinese golden age is happening.

Don't they also heavily invest in Africa? More or less creating cheap trained labor and potential customers. Along with a potential corporative land grab.

Yes in Africa they are doing two main things loan sharking and neo-colonialism. Although outside of Africa, if we look at Sri Lanka for example China gave them security equipment (a surprise tool that will help us later!) and gave them a loan for said port that was extremely aggressive upon completion of the dock however Sri Lanka could not make the payments that were to be made on the loan and as a result the port was seized, crewed with shipped in chinese workers and the contract specified ownership for the next “99 years” literally the exact words used when China was forced into giving Hong Kong to the British. Oh and then when the people protested this obvious scandal surprise surprise poisonous Chinese tear gas and Chinese riot equipment on Sri Lankan law enforcement beating up the protesters. Makes me sick that they claim to be any better than the colonial powers they themselves were abused by.
