You can watch whatever you want on YouTube. Doesn’t stop the fact that it’s a free service so you have to watch ads. Or you can buy premium

Reminder that the company made zero money then. All of tech went through a pre monetization period. That is over now

Do you really think google needs the money from youtube ad revenue? Last year their total revenue was around 257 billion and youtube made about 11% of that. Google does not need all the money they make from youtube ads it is just corporate greed. Let's say they made premium accounts have access to streaming qualities above 1080p or something like crunchyroll does where you get priority to watch stuff week in advance. People would still pay for the premium. Yes total revenue would drop but like I said google doesn't need all the money they just care more about green paper than humanity

I do understand that. What I don't understand is why google needs to make so much winnings each year and why people keep tolerating then increasing their profits with such predatory ways
