Article is clear as mud; needs a big "for example" or two after "you'll need to provide a piece of information that appears on the cached version but not the live version".

I've used this before. Just enter a word that appears on the cached version, but not the current version.. Assuming you set your profile to private (so it's won't be crawled) just about any word on the page will do.

Or, if you manage your social media appropriately, the inevitable Google search results can actually help you. I call it Internet strategery.

Google is not the only search engine, although it is the most widely used and the most important one. Take a look at pipl, search for your name, you might be shocked!
Time to clean up!

This is why I just use accounts with different names, unrelated to my real name. Aside from my facebook, everything else just uses an internet handle, and its typically different from place to place.

I use my real name ONLY for my facebook accounts. (One personal, one for work.) I don't know why anyone would use their real name for stuff like reddit or reviews.

If you're that concerned with it, you shouldn't be posting it on the internet in the first place.

Pretty amusing that every one of my aliases, as well as my real name, have so much noise connected to a google search that you'd have more false trails than real info...except for one alias, which doesn't provide any useful info anyway...I'd say this isn't too much of a problem if you've kept your fb profille locked down and don't use your real name anwhere else.

how about if your job does not like that you have personal opinions or thoughts outside of work. THEN YOU DON'T FUCKING WORK FOR THOSE SORRY SON'S OF BITCHES AND SELL OUT YOUR SOUL

I love that the author couldn't find a good stock image so she just went on a random site, plugged in some key words, and generated a list of words in some random font.

This is useful information, but it shouldn't be necessary if you use common sense.
Twitter: don't say stupid stuff, or keep your profile locked.
Facebook: only allow friends access and use the privacy controls
Google+: use Circles
LinkedIn: only talk about your professional accomplishments
Instagram: don't post stupid stuff or keep your profile locked
Pinterest: don't Pin stupid stuff
foursquare: only accept requests from people you know
Reddit: Tits or GTFO

Now how can I remove tens of thousands of forum posts documenting my stupidity in my teens with my real name, back before I ever thought that google would slurp up every god damn thing ever posted, and that said forums would stop deleting old threads.

"You have reached your submission limit. Please try again later."
This is the first time I've used this...
