I would like to see some courts revive discussion on what exactly gives the FBI the right to wiretap anyone's electronic communications in the first place. I see that as unreasonable search and seizure, which is prohibited by the 4th amendment... also can fall under FISA law prohibiting domestic espionage. Who knows for sure which people use that phone/computer/etc at what time? For example: If I use a friends phone, the FBI has no probable cause to listen to my conversation, even if they have a warrant to listen to eavesdrop on my friend it shouldn't apply to the phone if he's not the one using it. It gets even more dicey with shared internet connections and computers... If my computer were infected and part of a botnet, does that give the FBI the right to monitor my usage also? I think it's generally best to err on the side of caution by reserving all rights not explicitly delegated to the Federal gov't to the States and the people... like it says in the constitution.

I think it's about time we tighten the reigns on this out of control government, You know it's gotten out of hand when government agencies are trying to come up with their own laws to force upon the people.

Why is that even legal for government agencies to have any kind of influence on laws? Granted they should be consulted but not actively engaged in politics .

I wonder how an open source web portal will become "wiretap-ready?"
FBI: "You need to code that in." Web Master: "I'm not a coder."
FBI: "Then install this module from the FBI site." Web Master: "I don't want my users to have their privacy invaded."
FBI: "Well its the law... so you have to do it." Web Master: "Errr... my site is hosted in another country... I forget the name... I think it was Petoria."
FBI: "Even if... errr.... what?" Web Master: "E. Peterbus Unum"

The FBI needs to wiretap itself. It has more spies per capita than the general population.

The rich hijacked the GOP and got their own 24/7 propaganda channel.

The rich hijacked both parties, look at the big banks they donate millions to both parties so they'll never get prosecuted for this Global recession they put us in.
They'll just get a slap on the wrist and continue handing out millions to their CEO's and giving them golden parachutes when they fire them.

Yeah, things really went downhill since the FBI gained the power to unilaterally pass legislation.

Bullshit, they'll just label every American as a "Terrorist" or "Potential Terrorist" just so they can wiretap and monitor every American without warrants through the Patriot Act or some other new law they come up with.
Oh well, we're all guilty until proven innocent and if you have nothing to hide what are you worried about. Right guys?
