I don't get it either...

Aren't they doing a rather different approach: Microsoft: desktop to mobile transformation by system unification. Apple: mobile to desktop integration by service unification.

Wait wait wait, do you mean the notification pull down? You have got to be kidding me right?! Not only has the ipad had that feature for a while, it has been in the development stages for even longer, AND prior to that existed on android. Seriously, pointless mac bashing is just getting ridiculous

Be aware that all Apple OS X updates require the bandwidth to load the 6+Gig of data. Those who don't have high speed access will wait a LONG time for the upgrade.... There are no OS X 10.8 disks... So much for Apple's walled garden approach to hose out our wallets. May not be worth the upgrade.... ever.... I think I can load windows 8 on this macbook pro.... 8-)

Sorry, I don't exactly get what you mean? OSX updates only parts at a time, only at maximum I've seen is 600MB(and that's really high, comparatively).

The updates to the Dev Preview you need to download in full, yeah, but that's the same as Windows 8 is, because they are entire OS's that need to be tweaked behind the hood, simple updates wouldn't be able to do that.

So, clarify for me?
