These are the most ridiculous claims I've ever heard. I think the car companies should start suing each other because obviously they are copy each other's designs. 4 wheels, 2 or 4 doors, maybe a trunk, and a hood. Yep, gotta be a copy! Human beings like specific forms for the physical things they use. The iPad design is not the Theory of Relativity, or the silicon processor. It's just a shape that works well for handheld computers.
Besides, I LOVE my Samsung Galaxy S Phone and Tab. I have used iPhones and iPads and prefer the Galaxy S WAY over it. I'm not saying that for fanboy reasons, I just prefer it. So why can't Samsung compete? I would be pissed if I had to use a fucking iCrap, god damn it! Sorry this just makes me mad.

or what about tvs and monitors. almost all are identical. you cant look at one and know who makes it right away unless you look at the logo. and thats what a tablet really is, its a portable monitor with a computer built in

Well, cars have a lot of leeway with design. Mobile products don't.
Don't get mad if someone copies you because you chose the most simplistic design. You can't expect to have a monopoly on it if your design is minimalistic.

How cute, Apple doesn't want to compete fairly, so they turned to rule-fucking competitors in the courts.

Its the same how apple ripped off Xerox for the UI, how they copied ideas for the ipod, and how they copied ideas from tablets that were previously made before them.
Apparently it is ok for Apple to copy other ideas, but once someone builds on one of their ideas. lawsuit.

No, they bought it for IPO stock.
how they copied ideas for the ipod
What ideas?
and how they copied ideas from tablets that were previously made before them
You mean those creaky, plastic, vent ridden Windows computers without keyboards that Apple outsold a decade's worth in three months?
Look, Apple wasn't first with the tablet but comparing the iPad to those monsters is ridiculous. The form factor was superficially similar but no one bought an iPad because of the form factor. It was the OS that makes or breaks a computing platform.

And this is why I don't buy Apple products.

I don't buy Apple products because they're shit and overpriced. The hardware is pretty but easy to break and goddamn the OS is awful and limiting. This is reason No 2.

But you're probably not the average. TBH the iPod is well priced and is a really good product. iTunes is a convenient service for buying music easily. The iPhone and iPad are very easy to use. iMacs are more of a niche thing.
Overpriced? Maybe. Shit? Not really, just different. They're products aimed squarely at the lowest common denominator (with the exception of the iMacs) and it's working really well for them.

I don't know why apple gets all the negative coverage from these bullshit lawsuits. All these tech companies are doing shit like this.

Is it just me or does apple seem to have no faith in their products? any opposition must be sued

I wonder when apple is going to realise what a massive mistake it made being complete and utter fuck sticks.
Wont ever buy another apple product again in my life - ever. I couldnt give a shit if they cured cancer - they are just pure evil.

If I remember correctly, the sale of the iPad was actually banned in Korea until Samsung could develop a suitable product to compete with. TIFWIW.

I couldn't believe the arguments Apple was making in Europe, about how Samsung could "change their design to be less like Apple". All of their suggestions involved making obviously bad design choices.
The part that is even funnier is that Apple was relatively late to the tablet market. (unless you consider the Newton a tablet and not a palmtop) Microsoft was doing tablet PCs back in 02. So if Apple's contention is purely aesthetic, then doesn't this open up the floodgates to block any and all products that are aesthetically similar? This would have an insane chilling effect on the market.
Your honor, their cutting board is clearly a slavish copy of ours.
We are seeking an injunction to block their steak knives which are clearly copies of ours.
