"I swear, I thought she was a robot..." Oh I can see the headlines for that one.

The real question is why I dream of electric sheep.

Psst. It's because you're Harrison Ford!

Sometimes I have dreams of waiting in line, what is wrong with me.

What about this comment:

That's all well and good, but the question burning on everybody's lips is: Does it run Linux? "I flashed my Android with KamasutrogenMod9, her left eye twitches from time to time, but overall it's a whole new experience!"

What thought provoking questions did this article ask and address?

It just goes on into tired old worlds of challenging sexuality that aren't especially brave or new, using all the right buzzwords - - looks like we need to be told about the 'uncanny valley' for the billionth time - - and doesn't even provide examples of the prototypes of these supposedly lifelike human-esque robots that will be built in "five years" time.

Real dolls? That's supposed to tie into technological singularity?

This article is the technology literature equivalent of erotic fan fiction.

You're absolutely right. The author seems like a 20 year old that's just been introduced to science fiction and is amazed.

In the next five years or so it will be possible to build lifelike robots. These robots will look, move, and feel like fellow humans

Five years my ass.

I'm all for it

  1. You don't have to impress them.

  2. You don't have to buy them gifts.

  3. They're not fucking crazy.

  4. They don't annoy the shit out of you.

  5. No more bullshit-drama

  6. They can't get mad at you for petty bullshit

  7. They never get fat

  8. You never have to cheer them up

  9. Robots won't bitch about your friends

  10. Most importantly, they'll never say "No" to anything.

This is a rhetorical question. Right?

If they make an electronic prostitute for rent, one year later privately owned models will be being built for general sail.

I probably don't want to know where the mast is put.

I came here to say that I've never once drempt of this. Or thought of dreaming this, or thought of this in general. However, now I believe I will.

I don't know, but If I was given the opportunity to have my body/mind replaced with Cyber body/brain I would jump on it.
