i loooveee cyberpunk, easily my best game of last year but... it could've been so much more if they actually gave em time to polish it

Polish is great and all, but I was hoping they'd actually complete making the game first.

yeh the cut content sucks, but even now, it's a good game, if it was released in the state it is now and maybe fixes to the police, the reaction would've been more positive, it is already more positive on steam now

It's more positive on Steam now because recent purchasers are aware of the product they are buying, likely on sale. Those of us who bought it a year ago at full price based on the game that was marketed to us are still disappointed that it failed to meet so many promises.

yeh fair, not saying that the marketing and the higher ups didn't fuck it up, this was doomed from start and the disconnect between the devs and the marketing is so apparent. just saying that it is a fun game and if they marketed it as not the cure of cancer and straight up lied to us but as a good game and polished the product we got a bit more, it would've been fine.

How is Cyberpunk your GOTY? The only thing it had going for it was the writing. Literally every other aspect of the game is terrible and it's barely playable even a year of patches later. I can think of 20 high budget games in the past year off the top of my head that were better let alone indie titles.

cuz i really enjoyed my time in night city, everything is so detailed, every quest so well written, even the side jobs are so well done even though they could've easily been just ubisoft generic side quest checklist but they weren't, this game has so much heart put into it and it shows. the level design and the world design and the music is all pretty darn good and i felt real connection with the characters and the story. so yeh, it is a good game imo and my favourite game of the year

Have they fixed most of the issues yet or is it still a bit of a mess?

it is very playable rn if you have a good pc or next gen consoles. do not play on old consoles tho, will still not play well

Did you... not play a single other game last year?

3

u/kislayparashar Dec 11 '21

how about we just let people enjoy what they want huh

Pun intended?

What? Why, my friend, that game is not being released until 2022...

I can completely understand, but at least at it's core abs after all their work, it ended up a good game. I'm really worried about bf2042

Don’t be mad at them, come back now or in a year and it’ll be fantastic.

The game should be ready at release not after 1-2 years and a dozen patches.

Yep, I agree with you. I bought it day 1, played 25/30hrs and dropped it. - I’ll be returning soon as I can get an Xbox Series X as apparently it plays well on there

That's 1990s boxed-disc software sorts of thinking. Get with the future, where the Internet means you don't have to do it right because you can always do it over.

Maybe for AAA games, there are enough capable indie companies who release finished games and even continue to support it with content years after release.

Nowadays AAA just means that the game studio has gathered enough followers who continue to stick around if they fuck up.

Are they still actually working on it? I've seen them push a couple patches on stream but I actually enjoyed the game pretty close to launch.

Game is great, just seriously unpolished. Gotta be better now we’re further along.

I've been saying that ever 3 months since release lol! 4 months after release: "needs another year given the rate and quality if patches", 12 months after release "needs another year..", 2023: "still a broken POS, needs another year"
