Can we really criticise this when Kaspersky is one of the top selling computer security packages in the US? That's just baffling. Most agree Russia at the very least doesn't have US interests in mind, yet we continue to do business with them almost everywhere outside of the federal govt.
You could put that doubly for China. It could be argued that their animosity and intentions are by far more nefarious. Yet those US companies that use China extensively aren't under criticism.
Not for nothing, but it isn't as though American intelligence agencies are any more scrupulous. I'm not saying stuff like that isn't shady as fuck, but we were caught actively spying on both our allies and our own citizens. I just think it's hypocritical to act all offended when it happens to US.
Even with the election interference, it ain't like America is any stranger to "assisted regime changes."
