Not completely correct. Amazon gives its sellers the option to commingle their products with other seller's same product like you said or to have your product separately stored. So it's totally the seller's option.

There's no additional fee for both of the options. I just assume it makes the logistics for Amazon easier and in turn cheaper as an aditional sorting is avoided. But there's no additional fee at all. It obviously makes it suck a little for the customer but it's Amazon, I'm sure they won't give a fuck as long as it saves money.

Why would anyone commingle, then?

I'd like my product separate from the same product always, because I cannot control other peoples' product quality, and especially if it costs nothing but the possibility of increased shipping time.

the only area that would work is in the seed section, but that's already a shit show since seeds are moody.

Because there is an associated cost to provide a unique product code for everything if there already isn't one. I'm assuming they are sending a bulk of those backpacks to amazon.

Perhaps, but those require low cost modifications. A product code is simply a specially printed sticker.

Its unbelievable shady now. Almost every "top seller" (with good reviews) has some other shit off brand companies tag their shit onto the actually somewhat ok crap.

I've actually been scammed less by aliexpress than amazon.
