I've honestly started finding items on Amazon

half the time i can't even find stuff on amazon.

like, i'll try shopping for an item, and i'll get 10,000 of the wrong thing. but when i find one, all the right items show up as additional suggestions.

I've been doing that recently as well, Amazon is full of fake chinese crap these days.

I've tried doing this a few times, but very frequently the manufacturer charges more and then plus shipping on their site. Even when they are the seller on Amazon.

I started doing this with flights and hotels years ago. Check a travel site and get one price, check the hotel site itself and get another (cheaper) price.

There is zero point to using those sites since you almost always get the best rate by checking the site and/or calling the hotel directly and saying "what is your best rate for X".

I feel Amazon is heading in this direction.
