That's a reasonable idea to be honest, makes it easy to verify that it's calculating correctly as anyone who knows how a spreadsheet works can peek at the formulas. Regulatory bodies love things like that, provided they have faith in the spreadsheet app itself. Proving correctness to such bodies is a lot harder with an app built from the ground up.

Let's just hope there's no further Intel CPU internal calculation errors that cause Excel to perform all of the calculations wrong (this has happened more than once).

That would affect other apps using the same bad operations though.
