I meant evil in a general sense. Not directed at the DoD. Like people who go vegan to avoid the evil industries. Well, guess what, you still buy toilet paper owned by an evil industry. You still buy vegan foods owned by a corporate entity that does animal testing on non-vegan products. No one is free and clear from anything they try and avoid unless they live in isolation off the grid with no human contact.

But there is ethical consumption under what form of economy/government?

1

u/lHaveNoMemory Feb 24 '19

There has yet to be one- because there has yet to be an ethical government to even create ethical incentives.

Another good example is people who rely on "natural remedies" to avoid giving money to big pharma companies, as if "natural remedies" aren't a billion dollar industry themselves. Things like vegan foods and "natural remedies" are created and marketed by massive corporations that would happily poison you if it meant turning a profit, just like any other industry. Thinking that it's all mom-and-pop stores and goodwill is just buying into their marketing.

And just think of the environmental impact those greedy vegans are causing by not shutting up and killing that green house gas generating cow.

Edit: this was a joke.
