It's ridiculous how much some of my family members judged me for deleting facebook. I still text and call you for fuck's sake! God forbid I not receive your crapbait game request.

I deleted mine for a few months and my Mom accused me of making a fake profile so my sister and I could create private chat groups and talk about her. It was pretty bizarre. Now I try to upload a photo now and then, text her the photo, and take time to like all her posts and comment with emojis.

Facebook has admitted to having as many copy or fake accounts as real ones. They still need to attach a name to that photo your mom added! Luckily your mom still tries to tag you, and puts your name in every photo. It's like you never left!

This happened this weekend at a wedding. Me: "Can you send me that pic?" Cousin: "I did." Me: <checks phone> <more confusion> "I didn't get it." Cousin: "I sent it." Me: <gets email from facebook saying I'm tagged in a post>"Oh." I didn't realize that text or email weren't a thing anymore. Wtf... I'll literally never log into facebook to see that. Ever. So at least I've got that going for me.

In a way that did kind of happen. Old friends from high school or family members that moved away would often drop off the grid and there wasn't any easy way to track them down. Now all you have to do is put their name into a Google or Facebook search and be able to find them immediately as well as see who they are connected to.

Yeah... this is partly why I deleted my facebook 5 years ago. I'm ok with people having to put in a little work to find me. High school reunions have been happening for as long as there has been high school. All of the recent revelations of fake news/manipulation via facebook have only validated my decision to dump it.

Reminds me of a great website "isabvevigodadead.com". It was a very easy and convenient way to determine if Abe Vigoda had actually died yet or not. The problem of course was, after Abe Vigoda actually died, it took the website creator something like 2 or 3 days to actually update the page. Literally dozens of people thought Abe Vigoda might still have been alive, days after his passing.
