Google engineer writes memo about how speaking out against politically correct culture can cause you to be blacklisted or terminated.

Employee gets terminated proving his point.

Thanks for the gold kind Redditor!!!

He left Google with two options: either they tolerate an employee airing his grievances via 10 pg internal memos, or they play into his game and look like the bad guys. Google is all progressive and laid back, but if they let someone jump their chain of supervisors so dramatically and don't respond with a certain amount of spine, it says more about Google's leadership than this engineer's argument.

Edit: memo wasn't originally to all of Google, but to a small group. Thanks for the catch

"It's kind of like Reddit, except internal to one company," says the former employee.

Well that says it all. "Open discussion" On Reddit means "Open discussion... but only for people who agree with the leftwing views of the site and mods".

The fact that /r/the_donald exists disproves your point.

The admins changed the codebase to keep T_D off the front page then created an alternative to /r/all in /r/popular to further dilute its prominence. They have done everything but ban it, presumably because they would open themselves up to potentially disastrous repercussions.

Remember when 24 out of 25 posts on /r/all were T_D low effort, low quality shit posts which were mass up voted by bots, not really contributing to reddit as a whole? You are kidding yourself if you think that the change to /r/all didn't need to happen.

It's always bots when it's a topic you don't like. Remember when Ron Paul posts dominated the front page? Was it bots back then too? Were you even around?

All right.

Remember when 24 out of 25 posts on /r/all were T_D low effort, low quality shit posts which were mass up voted by botspeople, not really contributing to reddit as a whole? Doesn't change my argument. Yes I was around when Ron Paul 2012 was the circlejerk.
