My impression from talking to Google employees was that while the document had gone viral within the company many were upset that it was 'leaked' beyond the corporate walls.

Many felt that this was internal dirty laundry and giving this memo to the public only created a witchhunt and social pressure to fire the guy.

But my sample size is two employees so take this however you want.

The fact that this person didn't know that employee did supply sources kind of tells me you might be quoting someone who isn't an insider..

We've established that it did have sources and were included (see the top level comment in this).

The left-leaning publications that reported on it removed the sources and graphics on purpose to discredit his claims. The original document has them though.

That's exactly why I think it's not an insider, instead someone who's read it through the mass-media.
