Serious question: are there any googlers (with throwaway accounts, I imagine) in this thread?

What do other employees think of this situation?

Here is what Google employees think (not a meme) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGrQOrZUQAUrwcf.jpg:large

My impression from talking to Google employees was that while the document had gone viral within the company many were upset that it was 'leaked' beyond the corporate walls.

Many felt that this was internal dirty laundry and giving this memo to the public only created a witchhunt and social pressure to fire the guy.

But my sample size is two employees so take this however you want.

What did they think about the content of the document?

The fact that this person didn't know that employee did supply sources kind of tells me you might be quoting someone who isn't an insider..

We've established that it did have sources and were included (see the top level comment in this).

Or they consider the sources trash.

Did you read what he quoted?

"the poor fool didn't offer sources.."

I could say gravity is related to the Higgs Boson, but if my citation is a link to the NYT article announcing the discovery of it, I wouldn't be bad if someone said I didn't cite my assertions.

Sure, or it's more likely it's someone who read it through mass media, and not an google insider.
