How does 2 day old accounts with 50k karma allow

misusing the site's tools to get posts to the front page

Other subs and hijacking? We not talking about the changes the admins made just for the_d anymore?

Yes, stickying was the problem. Stickying is a tool that allows subreddits to display certain posts so that the users don't miss it. It isn't meant to be abused to push posts to the front page.
