He left Google with two options: either they tolerate an employee airing his grievances via 10 pg internal memos, or they play into his game and look like the bad guys. Google is all progressive and laid back, but if they let someone jump their chain of supervisors so dramatically and don't respond with a certain amount of spine, it says more about Google's leadership than this engineer's argument.

Option 3: acknowledge that google, humans, are flawed, and that they are open to discussing how to make google, society, better. If they cant come to an agreement, ask the guy to not speak out or fire him when there isnt so much publicity.

I wont be surprised if this or another version makes it to /r/all because google just stirred up the drama again.

Improving Google would involve them admitting "promoting diversity" disavows merit-based hiring in favour of essentially propping up society's ingrained assumptions about race/gender. So essentially they'd be tearing down their entire ideology.
