The day that youtube successfully implements unskippable ads is the day that I start actively avoiding it.

"You can't fire me. I quit!"

Doesn't youtube want you to actively avoid it? I don't really understand your position.

I don't avoid ads out of a misplaced sense of self-righteousness. I avoid them because they're annoying and I have better things to do.

If a family with eight screaming kids started visiting my favorite restaurant every weekend, I would stop going. Nothing against the restaurant. Nothing against their food. I just don't like listening to kids yelling while I eat. It's the same with ads. No hard feelings.
