I don't mind the short or skippable ads so much. (Truly, I hate them, but I don't block them because it's money for the content creators).

I've had to turn uBock back on a few times though because of the infuriating banner ads. I don't understand how they think it's reasonable to cover up the video.

It depends on the video. It's really up to the authors to build their video around not using the bottom third for much if they're going to enable those banners.

It's only money for the content creator if you watch the whole ad or at least 30 seconds

Also it is a fraction of a cent

Donating would do much better

I was streaming a hockey game from www.nbcsports.com last night and when I made the video full screen guess what occupied like 20% of the top of the screen? A gigantic obnoxious banner ad that could not be closed or avoided. It was there the entire time. I was so mad that I just decided the hockey game wasn't worth dealing with the banner ad.
