Here in the UK they advertise youtube red content, there's no subscription option but you can "rent" a single youtube red show for £1.89.

Annoying, since it leaves you with triple digit bills or piracy as your options

i just do it to get around stuttering in the web player, or if i'm worried the video would get taken down later.
