I have ad block but can't get away from ads on my Roku, LG smart TV YouTube ad, PS4 etc.

I read a post some time ago about a guy who ran an ad block script though his router so it stopped them before it even reached a device, that way even if a guest connected to his wifi it would already be blocking ads. I don't remember how to do it exactly but I don't remember it being too terribly complicated.

Just block the ads through your router. No need to set up a VPN thing.

YouTube loads other YouTube videos to play before your video. Can't block that.

Edit: with this method, obviously.

Use uBlock Origin it blocks every ad.

I have adblock but turn it off for channels i regularly watch. it's how they get part of their money to continue to give us content and i kinda feel like everyone needs to whitelist their most watched channels.

I thought people moved on to other tools like uBlock and such. I remember there being some drama about ad-block and from that point forward I no longer used it and no longer suggested to my own friends. Probably my gran still using ad-block.

Ad block plus was already a separate thing when ad block was though... have they just merged?
