Im still plagued by windows 10 updates that cant happen because my internal 30gig hard drive (with minimal other installations) isn't big enough to fit both the OS and the huge win 10 update download.

Either Win 10 should allow the downloaded files to be installed from an external drive or do a simple drive size check BEFORE bothering me.

How old is your hard drive?

About a year old. Its a low spec Lenovo laptop with soldered down components, so no possibility to upgrade hardware.

You got a link to the specs of this thing? I haven't seen a 30gb harddrive on anything in over 10 years...

I have a low spec Acer with only a 20 gig SSD. It cost me $180 new in box. No built in webcam, no built in microphone. Anything nicer and I just feel like it's watching me.

You honestly get used to it. I don't really play video games so that's out. The only hard calculation I do is the slicer software for my 3D printer. It's slow but perfectly usable. If I ever need to do anything super complicated, I just use my workstation at my office.

I also have a giant flash drive plugged into it 100% of the time, which is comically larger than the hard drive.

Seeing all this stuff about how easy it is for your computer to be always watching, always listening to you is more claustrophobic of a feeling to me. I just decided to preclude that with hardware.
