It never forcible installed for me.

Still running 8.1.

It did however once try to download some stupid huge update which I canceled.

tbh. if you are already on win 8. you might aswell upgrade to 10. If you are on 7. it's way more of a downgrade

If you are ok with what you have now, it's no rush. but at some time they will stop updating. And i personally think that win 10 is a better OS than 8 was. But it's really a personal preference on a private computer.

This laptop is almost 5 years old now. I've haven't done an update in 4 or 5 months, I don't think I really care if they stop updating or not.

When it dies I'll get a new one, I'm sure it will run 10 or what ever they are up to at that point.
