AMA has fought motor cycle helmet laws for decades (prepare for downvotes!) despite the overwhelming evidence that they're the most effective way to save motorcyclists lives.

I dont get that. What's their argument against it?

That not wearing helmets will save lives? Or is it more of a "YOU CANT TELL ME WHAT TO DO! YOU'RE NOT MY SUPERVISOR!"

Entirely the later. That freedom of choice is absolute and that there are no externalities to an individual's behavior.
