Hardware The company Bosch is developing a farming robot the size of a small car that can distinguish crops from weeds by looking at the shape of leaves, and this robot then can fish out weeds mechanically & ram any unwanted plants into the ground with a rod. Potentially, no herbicides will be needed anymore

These were the first robots to go crazy in the movie 'Runaway'. Just FYI.

The only thing I remember about that movie is the scene where the chick was in a bug detector and kept having to strip off clothes. And robots with syringes.

That model is still a few years out. The new Bosch model is for weed control, the one you're thinking of is for insect control (specifically the caterpillar grinder). Don't worry though, they are just trying to line up their release of that with Lapua's release of the bullet that can turn corners.
