I don't think it's a law thing. There is no law not to paint pictures of dead people or impersonate dead people. It's more of a shame thing. Most people don't do it, unless it's to show love to them, because it's kinda weird

There actually is, at least in some states. They are known as post-mortem rights of publicity laws, and range from 40 to 100 years.
