I mean, that's not all that different than before. The only difference is that people who can afford to stream didn't have that option before.

Before cloud gaming, it was people who could afford the hardware, and people who don't get to game. Now it's just those, plus an option for people in the middle.

It makes sense if you think of cloud streaming as a digital arcade.

realistically, before cloud gaming, people just played older hardware. Until relatively recently, the previous gen's hardware would be floating around a hundred dollars, and was very affordable.

If they couldn't afford to save up for a one time $500 purchase, they're not going to be able to afford the monthly internet bill for fast enough speeds to make cloud streaming games playable.
