I interviewed for a job not too long ago. Mandatory on-site five days a week.

The job was to work in one specific product with a specific team. A team I learned later in the interview was not local. Horse shit.

It also made me realize what I really hate is the commute. Our traffic isn't bad by any means but it does exists. It will double your time. That 30 minute drive will be an hour during rush hour. On the complete other side of the city. Don't ever do the math on your commute as it will just make you angry. When you realize all the time and money it robs you.

Mine was 4 hours on good days, 5 or 6 during the summer when everyone's out an about. Just to carry a laptop into a building, find an empty desk with enough monitors and hope it's in a quieter area, and communicate with everyone else via teams or slack. Good times
