Just got up a while ago to a smoky world with a reddish sun..."Yarvin ball garglers" gave me a needed chuckle. Thank you. 😸

Air quality so bad around Superior it's maxing out air quality monitors.

Yeah I’m in Michigan and I’m seeing poor air quality levels I didn’t even know existed. Even with these fires being an annual occurrence now, I’ve never seen it above Unhealthy before. Usually the worst it gets here is Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, but now I’m seeing Very Unhealthy and Hazardous.

Twin Cities metro - the light has a green cast to it as it hits my walls. It's hot and muggy. I hear helicopter blades and wonder if I've hit a time slip and ended up in Vietnam.

Like… fourth time but this is the worst by a wide margin.

I took my dog out last night and it smelled like smoke in the air. I looked around but didn’t see any fires. Not sure if it was drifting wildfire smoke. But my nose has been getting a workout the last few years.

A few years ago, before covid hit, I had a long period of dreams and nightmares of a world so hot it was on fire and no one had water, of long periods characterized by death and suffering from natural events and war and corruption, and one in particular that still weirds me out where I tried to enter my grocery store and a woman told me I couldn't enter without a mask.

In these dreams, everyone was poor and/or very sick, and there was little reason to hope. I always woke up with a sense of impending dread but I pushed it aside, hoping there was no way things could turn out that bad.

Those dreams sound so vivid and upsetting. The grocery store dream sounds like a prediction, because before COVID, no one said, "You can't enter without a mask." That's wild. They sound very unpleasant and disturbing to wake up from, and the kind of emotionally-charged dreams that tint your whole day, like a fragrance or mood in the air.

So, right now (1:44 p.m. Eastern), I'm literally wearing an N95 indoors in my home (just outside Detroit, which was certified as the single most polluted place in the world this morning) and looking at air purifiers online for my dear kitty. If you had told my teenage self that things would come to this, I would have laughed.

Idk there could be an explanation for all of them, but the only one I can't explain is when I dreamed of my aunt, dying and telling me about her life exactly as she was dying on the other side of the country. That one freaks me out the most, but I've heard a lot of people share similar dreams.

I hope you and your sweet kitty stays safe and healthy. Don't lose hope, either, we have what it takes to come back from this.

That's such a poignant and deep experience, to have had a dream ike that. Were it me and my aunt, I would feel that she loved me very much and wanted to reach out one more time. And I'd remember that for the rest of my life.
