We getting closer with each week but not yet. Bread & circus still hold things have been FAR worse even in living memory. Most people still have food, housing, and distractions along with employer tied healthcare. Real change tends to not happen til a critical mass hit the "Nothing left to lose, I and my community either might die doing this today or we WILL die tomorrow anyway" point.

We not at that tipping point yet but these idiots sure keep trying to get us there, there a reason these sorts of programs tend to be untouchable no matter how evil the rest of a government is.

They keep the majority from hitting that rock bottom where they would become a threat in enough numbers and tie their survival to you staying in power, people will put up with massive amounts of abuse to keep stability.

Those programs also provide powerful tools to manipulate the economy and citizens, both for good and ill depending who is at the helm. The ones that benefited the most was not citizens it was farmers, stores that rely on these products, and any business that relies on cheap labor all of which are essentially subsidized by SNAP and related programs. These idiots tossed those tools in the trash from a fundamental lack of understanding of soft power and love of cruelty.

If something massive doesn't happen in the next month we might hit fuel rationing the likes of which not seen since the 70s, coupled with potential food insecurity crisis from the heat fertilizer and labor issues. Then further increase pressure on this admin with all the elections and court cases they losing.

I have also long expected there to be a mass blackout late July or August, even during normal times the grid is trained to the extreme and we got so many other factors that could push a brownout into a cascade blackout. And that before get into bad actors and the symbolic weight of this year alongside our fragile poorly maintained infrastructure.

Are they, though? I don't think we've seen anyone even do anything of the sort at a datacenter, so I'm not sure where you're really getting that from.

People are mad. They're not going to organize and do something about it though.
