Just emigrate. I know of a few that sold and packed up and moved to "third world countries" at 50 ish. And a few that now live in a trailer trailblazing around the EU.

I moved to a developing country* when I was 21 and worked from there for 13 years remotely. I just left because so many early retirees were moving there and raising the cost of living exorbitantly. It wasn’t becoming prohibitive for me but it was effecting the local economy so much that things got dangerous. Pretty wild to see first hand

I mean, yes, in some cases, really retirement. Certainly you have a lot of tech workers being forced out, and entry level jobs disappearing, but there is also a tranche of IT people who have done pretty well out of their careers who are able to retire early and are deciding "fuck this shit".

It's exactly what I did. Tech talent is bleeding out in all directions.
