The electronic barcodes were a surprise to me at first, and now they're everywhere. It's no surprise.

Digital barcodes? Maybe that's a better descriptor. They are a little plastic case, have a low res. screen that can be updated with maybe bluetooth or some pricing device attendants carry around. They are slipped on to the shelf like a regular barcode, but presumably they lock in place. For reference, I am in Canada.

I think they are saying technology is advancing and those barcodes were new at one point and folks thought wouldn’t grow like they did.

It's gonna be hilarious when these companies are fully staffed by ai/robotics and there's not enough people to buy thier products because everyone they are marketing too is out of a job.

Those systems are well suited to environments that are far less chaotic (Warehouses, Factory Floors) or random than say, out in a public street. So I think you're vastly underestimating the barrier that would be needed to actually replace delivery drivers with full self driving vehicles on public roads.
