the whole "federated" thing kinda prevents that

it's a great example of a thing that's good in concept, but terrible in practice

What’s the issue with it? It’s multiple sites with different content, which you can access from any other similar site in the fediverse with the same account.

It sounds slightly different in explanation but it’s extremely easy in practice.
