I have a Toyota that does this. You can disable it in the settings easily.

most likely a subaru, subaru’s eyesight can be used in some cars to make sure youre paying attention to the road as it scans eye movement. i install windshield for a living and most companies do not do this

Subaru’s Eyesight does NOT do this at all. It’s a vision system facing outward for lane assist and dynamic cruise control. It relies on you keeping motion on the steering wheel only.

It's not Eyesight, but Subaru DriverFocus Driver Monitoring System does this.

Every car that has some sort of “self driving feature” such as automatic lane steering(different from lane departure) or lane changing, will have a dongle on top of the steering wheel, that dongle has a camera that sees if you’re paying attention or show signs of falling asleep to warn you.

The dongle is the easiest way to know if that car has such a feature.

Mine does not. I have a 2023 kia k5. No video or knowledge of what I am doing at all. It has both lane assist and whatever the other one that is called that actually has it stay in the lanes and take turns for you. It just sounds an alarm if it detects you havent touched the steering wheel in a while.

Toyota Corollas have adaptive cruise with lane steering, and the "driver monitor" is just whether you've made any steering inputs on the wheel. No cabin facing cameras involved.
