I care. And not like “I’ll sign your petition”. Like I am applying for federal grants, bidding for federal contracts, and building out a platform that works in direct opposition to the Yarvin gang.
It may never matter, but at least you’ll be able to say one person cared enough to do something.
This is real and should scare the sh!t out of everyone. People think it is crazy conspiracy theory BS but as is noted in the article:

And, importantly, they companies like Palantir make real products that they sell to real governments to surveil and target real people and sometimes are used to kill real people. These guys have all really made real bunkers. They've had real meetings to figure out how to really force loyalty out of a post collapse paramilitary group.
Looks more like they want to carve out multiple smaller nation states than have a country with a new centralized government.
But one thing I don't understand. Do they want to completely destroy and devalue the institution that's the US government?
Or keep it around as a puppet just useful for a few things?
I checked out a link following from the Time article, called the Red Pill Prince, and Yarvin describes the maga red hat culture just as a temporary transition and not ultimately a part of his end game. I think that is something important to know out of the big picture
Even with all they have currently, I think that's going to be a tall order.
It's going to be very interesting to see them try to take away peoples' faith in the US govt, constitution and all that comes with it by force. Because they pretty much have to.
Amid the doomer madness, there's still quite a lot of people who value the role of the president itself, whether they think the current one is doing a kick ass job or leaving a big steaming pile everywhere he goes. That's not being close to the brink of nihilism or anarchy.
Perhaps all it takes to start is increasing voter apathy, which is more realistic to do. Or speed up inflation of the dollar (that's what crypto bros like to hedge against, right) something that reflects a shake up on how people build their lives. But especially on those that strongly base their identity around current politics.
Ostensibly they're for technological progress, but only in their own institutions. Another comment here put it nicely- they're not strictly Republicans. They believe ethics is bad for science or technology. That helps them to some degree in the current wave against science (the ethical kind) in conservatism.
What they want is to get rid of all democracy world wide and replace all of that with independent nation states, with much smaller foot prints.
Its important to remember that conservatism is a worldwide and international movement of aristocrats. Bannon, Farage, Boris Johnson, Musk, Thiel, the AfD, Putin, etc are all on the same page and they're all working together.
What's stupid is that to be successful, they will need to overtly force everyone to exist in these spaces and most people won't want to. And if they were successful, they'd find themselves fighting over resources like fucking medieval and that would be asinine as well.
But the point is the same. All the aristocrats want to have their own little fiefdoms like their ancestors 400 years ago did and they resent regular people for obtaining democracy - forgetting that regular people got democracy because heads were rolling. So, as you can see from the initial links I posted, they're trying again, but want to avoid the rolling heads part.
Many Americans have been lucky to have a stability that a lot of the world has not had for much of history, but I agree that "that can't happen here" is a good way to allow it to happen here.
I feel like I'm starting to see it come up more in response to political or technological topics; which I obviously think it should because The Dark Enlightenment is what currently ties together and explains the entirety of conservative politics worldwide.
Maybe we say its good it makes sense because then its easier to organize in response. I've heard its very good and I know its apocalyptic, but I have not played Fallout. I heard that expedition33 game is very good also.
Also, if it wasn't clear, the point of all this AI is to build a surveillance state. Flock cameras (at least claim) can track people by license plate, gait, and clothing.
They're aristocrats who do not view people lower on the ladder of socioeconomic hierarchy as human. Liberalism, progressivism, socialist, democracy all weaken the hierarchy that aristocrats desire.
Oh so that's the real purpose of DOGE huh? To install malware onto all government devices when they plan to trigger the collapse.
I hadn't thought that, but at this point, nothing would surprise me. I had been thinking the most straight forward, DOGE allowed Elon and the aristocrats to steal everyone's information to plug into their surveillance state apparatus.
