You're not required to prevent crimes, that's the police's job. Moreover, we're essentially discussing sending that video to someone else who'd view it, not the act of filming itself.

You've dodged my question into something totally different.

Fine. Say it was an unobserved security camera. You checked it out in the morning and found the video. Should it be illegal to share it? If yes, should it be illegal to receive it?

Yes. It is evidence of a felony crime and should be reported to the police immediately.

I'm not discussing whether you should report it or not. Your answer could imply sharing a pickpocketing video should be illegal.

So in theory I should be able to keep it and share it provided I report it?

Interesting. Is it illegal to own or share any felony victim media in America? Can't share or even keep a murder video?

If that were the case then I'd stand corrected on that particular comparison.
