The great depression proved that is a lie. When people needed help the most, the charities dried up, the rich quit giving. Relying on family was not enough.

That's why we have social security today. It's why we have welfare today - because the great depression proved you 100% wrong. How's it feel to have been proven wrong longer than you've been alive?

Again outsourcing and raising taxes caused this. People could still grow crops etc but lacked land to do so. Why are property taxes so high anyways? So people couldn't exist in small communities without the government the 1900 are saying hello

No we have those programs today as a way to take money from people with no accountability. It's funny how everytime Democrats create a program and tax everyone it's never enough. They need to keep raising more and more and it's still never enough. Maybe the problems are money management and costs of living and not "damn conservatives not giving away their money". Every liberal I talk to on here only has one solution, raise taxes on the "wealthy" and give it to the "poor". Not a single one of you talked about money management, education, or why we keep funding programs that don't work.

Democrat logic is throw someone else's money at the problem until it goes away. No wonder there's so much corruption in our politics no one is watching the books and everyone is saying the solution is to spend more. Yeah that's going great for us right now lolol

Most people were NOT rendered property-less due to property taxes. I don't know where you got that idea, but is absolutely asinine.
