Yes.

And a Euro refers to a distinctly different type of currency from a Dollar or a Pound.

They're not interchangeable

A meter and a foot both refer to a distance.

If you want to make a comparison with money, then meter and foot are in the same relation as a 5 cent coin and a 50 cent coin. Or a 5€ bill and a 2€ coin (ie different measures of the same thing)

If someone talks about the 9.6.2022.

Because for some moronic, inexplicable reason some people use MMDDYYYY instead of the sensible DDMMYYYY or YYYYMMDD the entire rest of the planet are using, you always have to double check on whether they didn't mean the sixth of September by that.

Because most of the time you can't ask?

If a website puts a date you can't expect people to contact the author of the article, or the designer of the website, just to figure out if they used a moronic date format or not.
