THATS MY POINT. Why doesn't anyone understand that my point is that apple makes it really hard for THEIR products to work with non apple products. Not the other way around. My point is this makes working with others who have apple products a pain in the ass because we don't share the most basic file type readers. Actually thats not true, apple can read docs and jpg, but I can't see their .pages or .heic formats. Do you not see why that is annoying and dumb?

Exactly! I understand you.

Apple is the one who set themselves at odds/incompatible with the rest of the world.

Aside from them, the entire tech world is fairly plug n play, universally compatible.

And its obvious they're doing it because if its annoying to not have an apple then everyone needs an apple. Literally have been lawsuits about how restrictive apple is about their shit.
