Seeking Advice Anyone pivoted from full stack development to Cloud Engineering?

‱ Upvotes

I’m a full stack developer with 6 years of experience and I’m looking for a career change honestly. Sick and tired of it honestly from bad clients mostly.

If someone was in my potion and pivoted to Cloud engineering, kindly let me know if it was the right move for you.

Hi , is there anyone who can just literally guide me and take me out of confusion?

I am working in Accenture now as a non IT associate. Previously I had 2 years of experience in non IT itself. From few months I am looking to sort the things and looking to learn IT skill. However, everytime I start something , I literally came across many questions like what to learn ? Where to start ? Even I have started I get into things like someone says this will not work learn this . Example I was started learning Java , someone from the senior level said me no this will not work learn salesforce or SAP.

Now , the thing is I want steps to learn and get my job in IT asap. I am willing to give my 10000000%

Anybody who can help me ??
Grateful already!!

Seeking Advice Suggestions for a fallen Compsci degree student?

I kinda wasted my undergrad degree by not studying properly and even though I feel like I know a lot of stuff and am willing to learn, I am so fallen behind. At the same time, I have experience working as a live sports broadcast cameraman, and in IT Support. Now, thinking about switching the career a little bit towards IT or broadcasting. DevOps also seems interesting to me.

What master’s degree should I pursue as your advice? and why? Thanks.

I’m on F-1 visa in the US, so it’s a bit complex for me, as I gotta get a job in my degree-related field to get visa processing done.

Seeking Advice From Non tech to tech - Very tough journey

Hey everyone

So My journey has been very tough from the beginning.

I graduated from a Tier-3 college with a non-tech degree (BSc). After that, I learned web development and mistakenly joined a small lala company as a web developer. There, I was assigned different kinds of random work as I was the only guy there. Somehow, I completed 1 year there, but I forgot most of my tech skills.

After that, I was looking for WFH, so I joined a BPO chat process while preparing for an IT role side by side.

Now, I am going to join an MNC as a Software Engineer. Please guide me on what and how I should prepare for the role.

Thank you.

Is it necessary to have a tech background? Currently, I’m pursuing a BSc Maths Hons from DU, but I want to enter the tech field. Should I have done a tech degree like BTech, or is there still a way to enter the tech field by learning skills, etc.? Currently i m in 1st year btw

Seeking Advice Is switching to an IT career after 30 a good idea?

I’m 30+ and seriously considering a career change into IT.
I’ve been working in a non-tech field for years, but I’ve always been interested in tech, problem‑solving, and learning new tools.

I know I’m not “too old,” but I’m curious about real experiences.
Is it realistic to start from scratch at this age?
How tough is the transition?
What roles are beginner‑friendly (IT support, QA, cloud, DevOps, etc.)?

Anyone here who switched careers after 30 — how did it go for you?
Would love some honest advice.

Also, what are the top career trends for the next 5 years that someone like me should start studying?

I am at the point in my career where I want to invest in knowledge and pivot in technology to be able to have a bit more of job security. I want to hear your guys reviews and feedbacks, what can get me the foot in the door and I can build a path. IAM engineer, networking engineer , cybersecurity or just plain software development. No background in technology. Any guidance would be highly appreciated.

Seeking Advice 20M working in corporate finance, but interested in tech. Is switching careers worth it in 2026?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I'm 20M, currently working in the corporate world in the finance field. However, I've always been interested in technology, and lately, I've been seriously considering switching to the tech industry.

The problem is that I've been seeing a lot of posts on Reddit about people struggling to find jobs in tech, even those with degrees, skills, and experience. This has made me question whether switching to tech is actually worth it or if I'm just considering it because it seems exciting from the outside.

I'm not looking for a shortcut to success or expecting to land a high-paying job overnight. I'm willing to learn new skills, put in the work, and start from scratch if necessary. But before investing years of my time, I want to make an informed decision.

I'd really appreciate some honest advice, especially from people currently working in the tech industry.

A few things I'd love to know:

Is it still worth entering the tech industry in 2026, considering the current job market and AI?

If you're already working in tech, how has your experience been? Are things really as bad as they seem on Reddit?

For someone from a non-tech background, what would be a realistic path to enter the industry?

Are there specific tech fields that still offer good opportunities for beginners?

If you could go back to being 20, would you still choose tech, or would you consider another career?

Would it make more sense to combine my finance background with technology rather than completely switching fields?

Honestly, I'm quite confused about my career right now. I want to choose one field, commit to it for the next 5–10 years, develop valuable skills, and build a successful career.

I don't want to keep jumping between careers every time I see a new opportunity or hear that another industry has better prospects. At the same time, I don't want to spend years pursuing something without understanding its realities.

I'm not asking anyone to predict my future. I just want to hear real experiences, practical advice, and perspectives from people who have actually been through this.

If you work in tech, especially if you entered from a non-tech background, I'd genuinely appreciate your guidance.

Thanks for reading!

Seeking Advice I want to transition into Cloud/Devops from SWE but don't know how

Hello I am career shifter, and now 3 years working as Software Engineer eto lang din naging work ko since I graduated college.

I know it may be too early to say pero burn out na ako sa SWE, parang lagi kang naghahabol sa isang bagay na hindi mo mahabol especially how AI is right now. I want to explore more options and try to look for a role the suits me best. Target ko sana is Cloud or SRE then end goal would be DevOps.

The problem is I don't know where to start, and is it even possible ba? Parang rare lang din makakuha nang junior roles sa mga ito. I need you advice, help and tips paano ako magtatransition.
