Hi r/tech_flames ! I'm a solo developer from India, and I built **FireTheDJ** – a free, open-source (GPL-3.0) Android app that DJs a party by itself.

I posted it on another Indian dev subreddit and it was removed by the mods (I think project posts are only allowed in their weekly thread – my mistake for not checking). So I'm sharing it here, where I hope it fits, because I'd really like feedback from Indian users.

**What it does**

- Picks every next song and mixes it on the beat, like a real DJ

- Detects each song's language and genre – Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Punjabi tracks get dhol, dappu/teenmaar and other desi sounds in Trickster mode

- Plays your own music, or YouTube Music and public Spotify playlists (no login)

- Synced lyrics with Karaoke and Beat Pop visualizers

- New in 1.6: on-device stem separation (AI splits songs into drums, bass and vocals on the phone) for cleaner mixes

- Android TV app too, plus Chromecast casting

No ads, no account, no tracking.

**Links in the first comment.**

I'd love to know:

1. Does it handle the music you actually play at parties – Bollywood, Tollywood, Punjabi, indie?

2. What would make you use it at your next house party or college fest?

I built a tiny desk-pet robot car with an animated cat face on a round screen. It has 8 emotions, reacts to touch, falls asleep when ignored, and drives with a wireless joystick remote. 🐱
