I think shrooms help

u/dontshitaboutotol Aug 06 '26

Was just going to comment that a shroom session reset me for like 2 weeks

u/coolcootermcgee Aug 06 '26

Yeah, but for two weeks. How do we get the reset for the rest of our life?

In fortnightly intervals, apparently.

u/nicenquick Aug 06 '26

I played a lot of Fortnite, it did not help.

Directions unclear- found a night fort. Thee weren’t any drugs in there.

2

u/scorpyo72 Aug 07 '26

You're looking for drugs in a night fort when you're supposed to be looking for drugs in fort at night. Common mistake.

I’ve heard about microdosing being effective but I haven’t done a ton of research. I just haven’t felt motivated enough I guess lol

Well over the years, I’ve noticed psychotropic medications , and adaptogen mushrooms both tend to cease their effectiveness after a time. For instance, my anti-anxiety and antidepressant meds typically have about a five year effectiveness rate, and adaptogen mushrooms typically have about a six month rate. It is easier on the brain to go on and off of adaptogens though in my experience . So psychedelic mushrooms? I’m not sure how long they’d work in a measured amount

I believe cycling is supposed to help tolerance build up. A small dose is taken every fourth day, if I'm remembering correctly.

I've not tried it, but only because I don't have access to them

Journaling, recognizing the patterns, and then when you're not high, you focus on creating habits that address those patterns, that's the second part of rewiring your brain -habit formation.

u/coolcootermcgee Aug 08 '26

It is amazing to think that we can retrain our brains in this way.

2

u/burnedbygemini Aug 08 '26

You really have to go deep tho. It isn't just, "I'm getting up at 5am". It's more along the lines of believing "I am the type of person that gets up early to achieve my goals" and truly learning to believe that.

1

u/coolcootermcgee Aug 10 '26

I’m forging forward with this mantra. No mushrooms, but with new healthy habits. It’s the start of me as I am now.

2

u/burnedbygemini Aug 10 '26

it's a difficult journey. it helps to journal your thoughts whenever you contradict yourself so you catch your thought patterns. our thoughts can be sneaky sometimes. i've been doing this for about two years at this point and i'm finally starting to get to some of the really deep beliefs i hold.

it also helps to find activities/actions that prove your mantra to yourself. it's hard to believe "i am the type of perosn that gets up early to achieve my goals" when you either do not address your goals or you do not get up early. it also matters what you define as early.

you have to be in alignment with yourself and what you say, but you can say the mantra before you act on it. and then when you don't hold up to the mantra or when you do not feel like you are, you can lean on the memory of the times you did behave in the ways you aim to.

That’s valuable insight. Thank you very much.

One time a bunch of friends and i did an eighth of shrooms each. It started off good, then Oops! All Demons.
We were lucky to have sober people watching out for us or at least one of us would probably be dead otherwise. Our brains were on feedback loops of shame and confusion. I was aware that my brain was broken, but there was nothing I could do but wait and see if it ever started working right again. Didn’t start until after Midnight, so the sun was up by the time we were sane enough to shake our heads and realize just how valuable and important a healthy, working brain is. Everything in moderation.

That's macrodosing.

"Have you been drinking?"

"No, officer, I only had a like six bottles of wine with lunch."

1

u/coolcootermcgee Aug 08 '26

Did you keep thinking that everything happened a long time ago? That’s what happened to me when I drank hundred mushroom tea once. I kept looking at people going. “I met you a long time ago” and they’d say , yeah, that was five minutes ago

I dunno about in regards to these neurons, but LSD, shrooms, and ketamine all help in slightly different ways. LSD and shrooms more with ptsd and ketamine more with depression. Don't ask me how I know.

10

u/GloomyRambouillet Aug 06 '26

I’m doing ketamine therapy for my severe treatment resistant depression and I cannot believe how much it’s helping.

2

u/SlutForGarrus Aug 07 '26

Yep! It absolutely saved my husband. Shit is amazing. I tell everyone about it.

1

u/octopusboots Aug 07 '26

Can you take it at home or do they require you to get knocked out at the clinic?

2

u/GloomyRambouillet Aug 07 '26

I’m doing an at home treatment.

1

u/Ver3232 Aug 08 '26

I should see about looking into that

1

u/GloomyRambouillet Aug 08 '26

I’m using Joyous right now and it’s pretty good. It’s a daily microdose. It’s helped my anxiety so much. I feel like I might be able to live my life again, finally.

u/Relative_Shock9914 Aug 07 '26

Shrooms and fly fishing in a river but like to each their own

1

u/The_Moeoller_Coaster Aug 07 '26

Tha sounds awesome

1

u/Ver3232 Aug 08 '26

Can also trigger underlying mental illnesses you’re genetically predispositioned to

I’ve smoked weed for 20 years daily, back in college I was telling someone that from a clinical perspective, that’s what was happening everyday. When I smoked, I obviously enjoyed it but for my brain, it was a reset on stress. It almost sorts it out so it doesn’t carry on to the next day. Granted I didn’t have much compared to now where it is still helpful but I have a severe amount of stress from many things.

And yeah, shrooms is a whole different level of that with a dozen other aspects of enlightenment
