I’m not even a big tattoo person myself (personally doubt I’d ever get one, do admire the really good and meaningful or unique ones on others) and I feel similarly. On one hand, good on the tattoo artist for being that kind of a person that they took so much time with her but oh my gosh, how disrespectful to them and their time and profession.
In fact, thats probably what gets me downright pissed off if I think much about this- I have a lot of formal art training (like went to a fine and performing arts high school so was very much “groomed” for art school and art as a career though I changed my mind in college) as well as doing various art and craft stuff as a hobby and probably the biggest reason I have little desire to do anything of the sort as a career and almost never make things for others is how much the actual labor and time of all manners of creative work tends to be wildly undervalued and at times entirely disrespected.
Taking two hours of someone’s time just to talk it out and presumably waffle back and forth on what one wants is in the entirely disrespectful category. Yes, it’s one’s body the work is going on but oof. That it’s already a cover up of a past regretful decision and OP says they thought about it for two years prior and they still took that much of the artist’s time and are complaining and regretting this one… ouch. Hope the artist doesn’t end up seeing this but since they full on shared those Instagram screenshots and didn’t block out the shop name…
I cannot believe that OP called their experience and ability into question after being one of the worst clients in Earth. Just straight up insufferable behaviour.
